The <strong>Social Security Administration (SSA)<\/strong> will deposit the money on <strong>Wednesday, October 21<\/strong> for those born between the <strong>11th and the 20th<\/strong> of the month.<\/p>\n<p>It is the second of the three Wednesday payments of October. The first one was made on October 14, for birthdays between the 1st and the 10th, as we reported in our article about <a href=\"https:\/\/tododisca.es\/en\/social-security-payment-next-week-october-14-birthdays-1-10\/\">the payment of October 14<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Who gets paid on Wednesday, October 21<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Retirees<\/strong> born between the 11th and the 20th who started receiving benefits after April 1997.<\/li>\n<li><strong>SSDI beneficiaries<\/strong> with the same birthday range.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Survivors and family members<\/strong>, according to the birthday of the worker on whose record they are paid.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Who does not get paid this week<\/h2>\n<p>Beneficiaries who started receiving benefits before May 1997, or who receive SSI and Social Security together, were paid on Friday, October 2. Those born between the 21st and the 31st will have to wait until <strong>Wednesday, October 28<\/strong>. And SSI recipients will receive their next deposit on Friday, October 30.<\/p>\n<h2>How much this payment is<\/h2>\n<p>The October 21 deposit still uses the 2026 amounts. The average retirement benefit is about $2,095 and the average SSDI check is about $1,642. The <strong>3.6% COLA<\/strong> confirmed last Wednesday will not be applied until January 2027, when the average retirement check will rise to <a href=\"https:\/\/tododisca.es\/en\/social-security-cola-2027-3-6-percent-retirees-75-more\/\">$2,170<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>If the money does not arrive<\/h2>\n<p>The SSA recommends waiting three business days before contacting the agency. Most payments are made by direct deposit, so beneficiaries should first check with their bank.
