The <strong>Social Security Administration (SSA)<\/strong> has already set the dates, and some groups will receive the January money before the year ends.<\/p>\n<h2>January 2027 payment dates<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Thursday, December 31, 2026<\/strong> | SSI for January, because January 1 is New Year&#8217;s Day.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Thursday, December 31, 2026<\/strong> | beneficiaries since before May 1997 and those who receive SSI and Social Security, because January 3 falls on a Sunday.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Wednesday, January 13, 2027<\/strong> | birthdays from the 1st to the 10th.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Wednesday, January 20, 2027<\/strong> | birthdays from the 11th to the 20th.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Wednesday, January 27, 2027<\/strong> | birthdays from the 21st to the 31st.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>No SSI payment in January<\/h2>\n<p>Since the January payment is deposited on December 31, SSI recipients will not receive any deposit during January 2027. The next payment will arrive on <strong>Monday, February 1<\/strong>. Something similar happens in November, when the SSI money arrives early, on October 30, as we explained in our article about <a href=\"https:\/\/tododisca.es\/en\/ssi-two-payments-october-2026-no-november-check\/\">the two SSI payments in October<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>How much each group will receive<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Average retired worker<\/strong> | $2,170 a month.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Average disabled worker<\/strong> | $1,701 a month.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Aged widow or widower<\/strong> | $2,005 a month.<\/li>\n<li><strong>SSI, individual<\/strong> | up to $1,029 a month.<\/li>\n<li><strong>SSI, couple<\/strong> | up to $1,544 a month.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Other changes that start in January<\/h2>\n<p>The new <a href=\"https:\/\/tododisca.es\/en\/social-security-earnings-test-2027-25560-67920\/\">earnings test limits<\/a>, the new value of each <a href=\"https:\/\/tododisca.es\/en\/social-security-work-credit-1970-2027-taxable-maximum-192300\/\">work credit<\/a> and the new Medicare Part B premium will also take effect in January.
