Born between the 1st and the 10th? Your next Social Security payment lands on Tuesday, November 10

If you were born between the 1st and the 10th of the month, your next deposit will not arrive on the usual Wednesday. It lands on Tuesday, November 10, one day ahead of schedule, because Wednesday, November 11, is Veterans Day and banks and federal offices will be closed.

This is the next round of payments after the one that went out on Tuesday, November 3, and it is the first of three birthday groups this month. We explain how the November 2026 calendar works, who is paid next and what to expect in the amount.

Who gets paid on Tuesday, November 10?

The Social Security Administration (SSA) splits monthly benefits by date of birth. According to the agency’s official schedule, people born from the 1st to the 10th are normally paid on the second Wednesday of the month.

The November 10 group includes:

  • Retired workers born between the 1st and the 10th
  • People who receive Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) with those birth dates
  • Spouses and survivors whose payment is tied to a worker born in that range

Keep in mind that for people who collect on someone else’s record, the date that counts is usually the birthday of the worker, not their own.

Why is the payment coming a day early?

When a scheduled payment date falls on a federal holiday, the money goes out on the last business day before it. Veterans Day is on a Wednesday in 2026, so the deposit moves to Tuesday.

This is not an extra check, and it does not change your amount. It is the same November payment arriving 24 hours sooner, and the following Wednesdays go back to normal.

Who is not in this round?

If you started collecting before May 1997, or you get both Social Security and Supplemental Security Income (SSI), your payment already went out on November 3. SSI recipients got their November money on Friday, October 30, because November 1 fell on a Sunday.

Everyone else follows the rest of the month’s schedule:

  • Wednesday, November 18: birthdays from the 11th to the 20th
  • Wednesday, November 25: birthdays from the 21st to the 31st

Will this check include the 2027 raise?

No. The 3.6% cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) announced in October applies to benefits payable for December, which most people see in their January deposit. As we explained in our look at the November 3 payment, this month’s amount stays at the 2026 level.

SSA figures show the difference ahead. The estimated average retirement benefit rises from $2,095 to $2,170 a month, while the average for disabled workers goes from $1,642 to $1,701. Your own number will depend on your record.

SSI recipients will see it sooner, since the new $1,029 federal maximum starts with the payment sent at the end of December.

What should you do if the money doesn’t arrive?

Most beneficiaries receive direct deposit, so the money should appear on Tuesday. Check your bank account first, and allow for the fact that some banks post deposits at different times of day.

If the deposit is not there, the SSA recommends waiting three mailing days before contacting the agency. Remember that Wednesday’s holiday will slow down offices and mail, so Thursday, November 12, is the first regular business day afterward.
